Ideas for a Perfect Party in the Garden

Decorate the entrance

Give your guests a warm welcome, decorate the entrance of the house and receive them with a cocktail. Prepare a place for them to leave their personal things and make them feel at home.

Choose a place as flat as possible to place the table

If you are going to serve dinner, choose a stable place for your garden dining set and chairs, they should limp as little as possible. It may be a good idea to buy some wooden planks; you can place them on the grass to create a solid base or a temporary floor.

Leave space in the shade for your guests

If the event is daytime, offer your guests sun and shade options, so they can rest from the heat if they need it. Placing an awning or a small tent, which can be decorated with flowers, is a great idea. Or, if you are lucky enough to have a room that overlooks the garden, open the doors and buy decorative carpets to protect the floors.

Combine the colours of food and drink

To create a total harmony between all the elements of the party, prepare a fruit punch or a welcome cocktail that combines with the colors of the decoration. You can even make the matching canapés (whenever possible), you will surely surprise your guests.

Leave an impressive dessert that acts as the protagonist

Fruits with champagne jelly always look good, or a delicious summer cake decorated with fresh berries and edible flowers. Surely your guests will not be in a hurry to leave!

Lights strategically with candles and lanterns

Watch the lighting in your garden and, at nightfall, use candles and lanterns placed to create a romantic atmosphere. Distributing small candles across the lawn and making paths will create a beautiful atmosphere, while two or three large candles in the center of the garden and at both ends will keep the party well lit.

Combine the decorations with the garden plants

Choose simple decorating idea and outdoor garden furniture for the party (decorating in a tone that matches the garden flowers always looks good). Then, use the same idea for tables, chair covers and candles. That will help give your party an elegant and sophisticated touch.

Protect your guests from garden pests

Bugs can be a problem! Nobody wants to see them nearby ... much less inside their cocktail. Try serving drinks in original jam jars instead of in glasses. Make a small hole in the lid to introduce straws and combine them with the colors of your party. Light a few anti-mosquito candles and place them in the garden to reduce the chance of biting guests. Oh and always, always, have an insecticide spray on hand.
